DHARTI Speaks! #2 (2021): Beyond Defaults: Multilingual DH Meets Cultural Analytics

As the second session of the DHARTI Speaks! series, Beyond Defaults: Multilingual DH Meets Cultural Analytics was held on 16 January 2021, at 7:30 PM (IST) / 6:00 AM (PST). The session featured Quinn Dombrowski (Stanford University, USA), an academic technology specialist working in Digital Humanities. The talk examined the challenges of working with multilingual and non-English data in Digital Humanities, particularly the limitations created by English-centric tools and approaches. It also considered questions of digital project sustainability, data and corpus maintenance, natural language processing, and the need for more inclusive approaches to multilingual DH and cultural analytics.
